![]() ![]() Now, each of them appear to be "in editing" by the Corel AfterShots 3 software, and each of the images has become affected. Then, she accidentally opened the editing software on one image and continued paging through each subsequent image (blown up to full screen). My wife was paging through each one of them and enjoying the experience. They all opened just FINE (proper orientation). There has been som upgrade of PSP since 2018.Similar issue, for sure. More, smaller teeth gold colour bigger centre hole I adjusted a few of the parameters to change it to: Here's an example of the cog drawing tool, with effects applied: Each has multiple options, and effects can be applied to them without turning them into pixel layers These are the vector drawing tools in AP. This is the list of vector objects available, each of which has several options: You can use the tools from both products to edit the same document. Plus, if you make use of a lot of vector drawings, Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer are fully integrated. What bug me most when using Affinity is that I did not find a way to set selectivity for the auto brush. No thanks, I'm delighted to have moved on to a much better, more modern product family. Can you select an area in affinty and press a button and voiala, you are done? ![]() What bugg me most when using Affinity is that I did not find a way to set selectivity for the auto brush. Check out 2023, you vcan use the trial for 30 days. There has been som upgrade of PSP since 2018. When I switched from PSP 2018 to Affinity, just about everything was better, and usually easier (and I'd been using PSP since the early JASC days). Surely Affinity has all of those features, with equal or greater functionality (maybe not file management), and many more? )Īnd if you move out of pue photo stuff, advanced frame within photo, ability to add vector objects. ![]() ![]() ( Very handy too remove objects in the background. ( I know that Affinity has a Refine brush as PSP, they are quite similar.) And by the way, Ido know that Affinity has a few unique features of it's own.īetter selection tools, specially the smart selection tool where you can adjust selctivty. Here is what I can come up with without much thinking. Mostly because I'm familiar with PSP after using it for 25 years or so! And by the way, I also own Affinity but it's not getting much use. Some of the features I will mention are very subjective, others not. PSP has a combination of features that I can't find anywhere else. I wonder if Corel has plans to update their Aftershot Pro 3 version as well. I looked at their promo for the 2023 version and was surprised to see Aftershot Lab integrated into it. So I will probably upgrade this time as well. During it's long life I have upgraded quite regularly, only skipping a few. My only surprise about version 2023 is the lack of attention given by DPReview - which, as of now, is none! Is there a reason DPReview has given its release a snub? PaintShop Pro has been around 30+ years and has its niche and is still remains quite popular as an alternative to the big guy's software. The fact that version 2023 now integrates Aftershot for processing RAW files is a significant addition. It's certainly not a perfect graphics program and I can cite several versions that really weren't worth upgrading to, however, I know the software inside and out and it's become a part of me - so, I faithfully upgrade when each version is released. I upgraded to version 2023 the day it was released. I've continuously upgraded to every version since. I have not tested a lot yet, but for less noisy / lower ISO shot, I find that After Shot Pro in PSP is OK.Īlso, sometimes I find it convenient to have a better RAW processor in my preferred bit map editor The DXO processed image was sharp and detailed and noise free, not something I could say for the result I got from PSP / After Shot. The high ISO shot did not compare favorably for PSP. Now I just compared a ISO 6400 / M43 shot, developing it in both PSP / After Shot and DXO with Deep Prime. I usually use DxO PL Elite with Deep Prime for high ISO shots. I never had any problem with the Exif data from PSP, I belive that was a problem in some old version from JASC.Īnyway, I just tested the RAW processing in the PSP 2023 trial version. I am slightly curious about the new PSP version - they have bundled "Aftershot Lab" which seems to be an evolution of Aftershot Pro, for pre-processing of raw images.Īttached image I just exported from PSP 2019, so you can see the Exif. I'm running PSP 2019 Ultimate, though my initial raw processing is by Capture One, the output from which I send to PSP, if required. ![]()
